Collection & storage
of personal data.

When visiting the website

When you access our website, our contracted hosting provider automatically collects information that your browser transmits to our server. This data is stored temporarily in a so-called log file:

• IP address (anonymised)
• Date & time of the request
• Browser type & version
• Operating system
• Referrer URL (where you came from)
• Amount of data transferred

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest). The data serves solely for the technical provision & security of the website and is deleted after a maximum of 7 days.

B2B inquiry (wholesale)

If you contact us via the inquiry form on gaust.de/en/grosshandel/ or gaust.de/grosshandel/, we process the details you enter there: the name of your business, your city, your email address, your phone number if you provide it, the bases you are interested in and your message.
We use these details to answer your inquiry and send you a quote. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (steps prior to a possible contract) and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (handling business inquiries).
The form is sent to a server at our web hosting provider Hostinger and delivered from there by email to boo@gaust.de. We do not store the form data on the web server. To prevent abuse, we store your IP address only in hashed (pseudonymised) form together with the time of the inquiry in a temporary file. This lets us limit the number of inquiries per hour; older entries are discarded (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
We delete the email with your inquiry once it has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply (e.g. for business letters if an order results from it). The form data is not passed to Google Analytics, Meta or any other measurement service and is not used for a newsletter. If you have given consent, we only report to Google Analytics and Meta that an inquiry was sent – without its content.

Cookies.

We use no tracking, analytics or advertising cookies without your consent. No profiles are created about you for personalised advertising. No cross-site tracking takes place.

Functional cookies may be set by embedded external services (see below) once you interact with them.

Spotify embed (soundtrack)

A Spotify player is embedded on our site. Once you actively play it, data is transmitted to Spotify (IP address, and Spotify cookies if you are logged in).

We link to our Instagram profile @its.gaust. Only when you click are you redirected to Instagram, where Meta’s privacy terms then apply.

Instagram direct messages

If you send us a direct message on Instagram (@its.gaust), we process your Instagram name, your message and the time it was sent in order to reply. Frequent questions (e.g. opening hours, address) are answered instantly by an automated system. Other messages are answered by our team, supported by reply suggestions from an AI service (Claude, Anthropic PBC, USA); for this, the conversation is transmitted to Anthropic (basis: EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
Messages are stored with our web hosting provider Hostinger and deleted no later than 90 days after the last message. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.
Deletion: Send us “delete my data” via Instagram or to boo@gaust.de and we will delete your conversation.

Google Analytics 4 & Google Ads conversion measurement (only with your consent)

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. We use Google Consent Mode v2: without your consent via our banner, no cookies are set and no analytics identifiers are stored; only cookieless, anonymised technical signals may be transmitted. Analytics storage is activated only after your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Sec. 25 (1) German TDDDG). Your choice is stored locally in your browser; you can revoke it at any time by clearing this site’s browser data — the banner will then appear again.
With your consent we also activate Google Ads conversion measurement (ad_storage, ad_user_data): it helps us understand whether visitors found us through one of our Google ads. IP addresses are processed anonymised; Google Signals and personalised advertising features (ad_personalization) remain permanently disabled — no advertising profile is created about you. Data may be transferred to the USA; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Analytics data retention: 14 months.

Meta pixel on the wholesale pages (only with your consent)

On our wholesale pages (gaust.de/grosshandel/ and gaust.de/en/grosshandel/) we use the Meta pixel of Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland. The pixel is only loaded once you agree in the consent banner on these pages (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Sec. 25 (1) German TDDDG). Before that, no connection to Meta is made.
With your consent, the pixel records that you visited the page and, where applicable, sent an inquiry. This shows us whether our ads on Facebook and Instagram lead to inquiries and lets us show our ads to people who visited our wholesale page. Cookies may be set and data such as your IP address, browser and device information and the page visited may be transmitted to Meta. If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram, Meta can link this data to your account. We do not pass the contents of the inquiry form to Meta; automatic advanced matching is switched off.
We are jointly responsible with Meta for collecting the data and transmitting it to Meta (Art. 26 GDPR); the agreement is available at facebook.com/legal/controller_addendum. Meta alone is responsible for any further processing. Data may be transferred to the USA; Meta is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can revoke your consent at any time by clearing this site’s browser data – the banner will then appear again.

Fonts

All fonts (Outfit, DM Mono, EB Garamond) are self-hosted on our own server. Loading them establishes no connection to Google or any other third party; no data is transmitted to third parties in the process.
